IPCA - EI Precast Modular Evening Course
The Irish Precast Concrete Association & Engineers Ireland recently launched a Modular Evening Course in Precast concrete. The course comprises of twelve one hour lectures held over six evenings. The first two lectures commenced on January 10th 2008 and were the first ever lectures to be webcast by Engineers Ireland.
Over one hundred engineers attended the course which was also viewed over the web by a further fifteen participants. The new webcast facility is particularly appreciated by those outside Dublin, many of whom combine physical attendance at lectures with use of the webcast facility.
The purpose of the course is to introduce Precast design philosophy and principles, systems and applications, Precast detailing, structural stability and key issues such as fire resistance and Sustainability.
