Insulating Concrete Formwork, Designed for Life

Today home buyers expect to get more from their home; a home that fits their lifestyle with a high standard of construction, greater comfort and security, a healthy living environment with lower energy and maintenanceTown Houses bills and a minimal impact on the natural environment. The same applies when operating and managing a business, be it an office or a nursing home, the same expectations are there for both employer and employee.

The Insulating Concrete Formwork Association of Ireland (ICFAI) was established to promote the use of Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) in Ireland. ICF homes are thermally efficient concrete homes encased in insulation.

What is Insulating Concrete Formwork?

Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) combines the use of expanded polystyrene (EPS) panels with reinforced concrete to form highly insulated wall structures for use in all sectors of the construction industry.

Once the EPS panels are laid, they form a rectangular space into which concrete is poured. The concrete ensures the strength of the wall while the EPS panels remain permanently in place as thermal insulation for the life of the building.  Insulating Concrete Formwork systems enable buildings to heat, cool and ventilate more efficiently, creating a healthier living and working environment.
